Not sure if this post should be called “Man Crush Sunday” or “Style Star of the Week.” Haha! I stumbled across Sunday’s Instagram page a few months ago when I realized he shot with a photographer I was interested in shooting with. After seeing his keen sense of style, I just had to have him featured on the blog. Keep reading and you’ll quickly see why.  Sunday Bamgbose, 24 Was born in America but claims Nigeria 100%. Works full time as a Career Advancement Coach for a non-profit organization called “The Door” How would you describe your style? A: I would describe my style as simple yet unique (I know it sound extra cliché). I don’t like to drag out things, however, when I dress up or down I find the simplest ways to stand out. Who or what inspires your style? A: My Pops played a large role. Growing up as a kid I always watched him tie his ties, iron his shirts and pants. He’d have me iron his clothes for him. I would watch my Pops …

Style Star of the Week: Malikah Kelly

Malikah Kelly    New York, NY Fashion Marketing Manager I would describe my style as feminine with a touch of edge. Comfort is always a priority, especially since my days are jam-packed, so I always take that into consideration before I even buy anything new.    I’m inspired by travel, life in New York City, and what I see on the streets and social media every day. I’m lucky enough to be exposed to so many beautiful, amazing things and I try to stay appreciative of that.    I feel most myself in bodycon outfits. My back is probably my favorite body part so I show it off a lot when the weather permits.    There are so many things I’d be happy doing as a dream career. As someone who’s been in fashion marketing for so long I know how an industry can dynamically and quickly change. So much of what I spend my time on professionally today didn’t exist 5 years ago, so what could be my dream job may not even exist yet!  …

Style Star of the Week: Chichi

Name: Chichi Age: 26 From: Vienna Occupation: I’m a postgraduate student studying marketing at the University of Kent in England. I don’t really know how to describe my style. I guess my styling is a mixture of casual and edgy pieces. But in all honesty I’ll just wear anything that I feel comfortable in. I take inspiration from everywhere: reading other blogs, following people on instagram, on what people wear on the street, merchandising in stores etc.   If I had to wear one outfit for a month? That is easy: black jeans, white shirt, and a bomb jacket– probably a leather jacket, plus some black boots. I think it’s an easy and effortless look and you still make an impression!   I like to travel around the world in my spare time. You see so many amazing things and get to know so many new people. I really love it. And food!! I’m a major food lover. Nothing hurts me more than eating bad food lol. The mantra I live by is: “Clear your mind of can’t!” Im literally …

Style Star of the Week: Jeffrey Calant

Name: Jeffrey Calant 24 Belgium Bachelor in Photography, currently working for the denim brand Diesel I don’t think I can give my style a name… I wear a different style every day, it depends on how I wake up and what I would like to wear that day. One day can be super casual, the other day I am all dressed up. I like too many things. I follow a lot of famous people and influencers on instagram and get a lot of ideas from there. One of my favorite people on instagram is @kosta_williams because he also mixes a lot of styles.  If I had to wear one outfit for a month straight I’d wear my long camel coat, a shirt, fun jeans and white sneakers. It would be an outfit that is comfy but can look really clean at the same time. As I work for Diesel, I was looking at their latest campaign pictures and liked them a lot. Curious to know who shot it, I took to the internet. All I found of the photographer were a lot of scandals… I …

Kira: I am for the most part always in timeless, feminine, girly attire. I love lace, frills and flares and firmly believe I should’ve been born in the 70’s because I am obsessed with big hair and bell bottoms. We get the most inspiration from street style. We love paying close attention to what people are wearing when visiting different cities and incorporating the different styles into our wardrobes. If you were given $150 to shop, would you spend …

Style Star of the Week: Alli Robben

When I came across Alli’s profile on Instagram I was pleasantly surprised to learn we both live in Cincinnati! After talking with her it became evident she’s such a sweet girl. Read on to see how she feels about wearing white after labor day, the outfit she could wear over and over again, and how she got insta-famous.  Allí Robben Age 22 Cincinnati, OH Sales Associate at Nordstrom My style is very minimalistic and neutral, but with an edgy twist. The blogger @WeWoreWhat is my #1 go-to when it comes to street style inspiration. I feel like we have very similar styles when it comes to fashion. She wears more designer than I ever could at this moment in time, but she keeps me dreaming. If I had to wear one outfit for a month straight…Realistically I would wear my pajamas, but to better answer this question I would say my black high waisted skinny jeans, a grey t-shirt, and a leather jacket. This outfit is always my go-to. I love my high waisted denim …

Style Star of the Week: Hadiatu Jalloh

Hadiatu Jalloh Age 20 From Boston, MA (currently living in Chicago) Student I’d say my style is relaxed but put together. Comfort is paramount in anything I wear but I do enjoy planning my outfits out. I don’t think I’d be able to put my style into one category even if I tried because I love switching things up on a day-to-day basis. One day I’ll be in flowy clothing, pretty Boho, and the next day I’m wearing my Timb’s, a thrifted windbreaker and a baseball cap. I love the freedom I have to dress however I’m feeling that day. My style inspiration? Solange! I love seeing the freedom in her expression. Her bold pattern and texture mixing truly speaks to me. I hope to one day ascend to her level of boldness (grey is the most prevalent color in my wardrobe right now). Growing up I adored Lisa Bonet’s style and feel she truly inspired me to start dressing the way I do. I’d love to work in the music industry. A&R preferably, finding …

Style Star of the Week: Chukwudi ‘Chuks’ Nwamba

Chukwudi ‘Chuks’ Nwamba 24 Years Old Southfield, MI Industrial Engineer I’d like to think of my style as simple, clean, comfortable and timeless; modern dressy/casual. Comfort and versatility is what I keep in mind most when I get dressed or purchase apparel. I always appreciate subtle but bold complimentary accessories as well: scarves, vintage rings, sock patterns, watches, etc. I love representing my culture through what I wear. My style is inspired by my close friends, Kanye West, my culture (I’m Nigerian) and of course random pages I follow on instagram. I recently began a business with some of my closest friends known as Jerk X Jollof.  We provide an experience that exposes communities to African & Caribbean culture, cuisine, and nightlife. It was inspired by a void in spaces that allow people to come together and celebrate the diaspora. Jerk comes from caribbean jerk chicken, Jollof comes from an african rice known as jollof rice. My dream job would consist of being able to travel the world turning the business into an organization that curates …

Style Star: Meet Ryan Dixon

Ryan Dixon, 20 Marlboro, Maryland Visual Biographer, Retail Generally speaking, I would describe my style as a combination between modern minimal, conservative, and raw/rugged. I say generally because there isn’t any one specific style that I  gravitate towards, but typically, people say that’s how I look! One day, I may want to be casual, with joggers, some sneakers and a white tee, the next day more professional and clean cut with a nice, cool colored suit and tie, and the next day, I’ll throw on some skinny/ slim fit selvaged denim, chelsie boots and a long length button down. But the beauty and commonality between these things is the focus on clean cut pieces, strong details, and simplicity. A lot of the time people tend to say that I look really well put together. I also hear often that the pieces I decide to put together can clash sometimes, but still manage to offset each other nicely. Lastly, I’ve heard my “Man Bun” really adds some extra emphasis and aesthetic to my outfits which is …

I love bloggers like Kerti Pahk, Ebba Zingmark, Juule Kay and Evamaria Keranen Something about yourself most people don’t know: I like spending time alone, and I get tired of people quite fast. I think I could describe myself with the quote “People empty me, I have to get away to refill” from Charles Bukowski. Name one outfit you couldn’t live without: First, I couldn’t live without my Converse sneakers. And then, there is a denim jacket, a simple white …
