Spring Lookbook// Color Punch

Recently. I styled my friends Bintu and Julia in bold colors and fun prints for spring. The first few pictures were taken at the Krohn Conservatory. We found the wall near our campus (University of Cincinnati). Embrace the warm weather and dare to be fun in your hue choices. Colorblock! Don printed headscarves! Sport patterned leggings, which Redbubble now carries! For this specific pair click here.

Callina’s Spring/Summer Collection is Perfect For Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! I recently came across an artisanal knitwear brand that prides itself on its renewability. The brand, whose clothes are handmade in the Peruvian highlands, is called Callina. Their contemporary collections are made with luxury and sustainably sourced yarns. “Callina is grounded in an ethos both social and environmental, and donates a portion of every purchase to The Mirasol Project, a boarding school in the remote region of Puno, Peru, for the children of alpaca shepherds.” Callina‘s spring/summer collection is inspired by nature and artfully mixes elegant yet flirtatious patterns, making items unique yet easy to wear. Like impressionist paintings, the palette is a playful mix of soft and bright hues in fresh pastels mixed with bright pops of melons and vivid blues. New offerings include skirts, tops and sweaters in fine knits to create open lace designs and exquisite textures combining past and present knitting techniques. These modern patterns add to Callina’s sophisticated collection of silky tank tops, lightweight cardigans, and flirty skirts. Creating exemplary wardrobe staples, Callina uses the finest and rarest hand-combed pima cotton and alpaca fibers combined …

Pre Fall 2015 | The Row

The inspiration for the Olsen twin’s collection was this 1966 photo taken by Leroy Grannis as well as other surf references from the 1960’s and 70’s. The way they translated it into the clothes was done in a very subtle and graceful way. Fabric is backed in neoprene, zip closures are utilized, and the stitching you would find on a wet suit is incorporated. I absolutely love the nude colors choices, with pops of color here and there. I feel this monochromatic nude look in loose silhouettes is very “in the now.” What do you think of this collection? “Our last Pre-Fall was dark and heavy… This season, it was important for us to explore weight and color in the right way.” -Ashley Olsen All images via Style.com

You Can Never Leave Home Without It…

PinkBasis let me review a few of their purses. I chose a tote bag in chestnut-brown, a Céline knockoff in navy blue and a black studded cross body. See below how I would style each one and head over to their website for tons of affordable finds in accessories.  Don’t forget to take the poll at the end of this post to let me know which bag is your favorite! Chestnut Tote Bag I’ve been using this bag as a replacement to my backpack for school. It’s large enough to hold books in it, homework, a wallet, lipsticks, etc. I love how roomy it is and the neutral color goes with anything I wear. It also comes with a strap if you want to wear it hands free.   Navy Blue Céline Look-a-like I’ve had my eye on this style of bag for a while, so I was happy to see Pink Basis carries it. The bag has plenty of compartments for extra storage and will add a nice pop of color to an otherwise …

I Scream For Ice Cream | 1 Top 3 Ways

Summer is right around the corner and lately it’s been hot enough to wear just  a tank top. I thought it would be fun to show you three ways I’d style one of my favorites… a cheeky ice cream and popsicle  muscle tank from Red Bubble.    Outfit #1 Tank\Red Bubble   Sunglasses\ ICU    Denim Shorts\Thrifted   Sneakers\Converse  Watch\Modify  For lots of leg pair a tank with high waisted shorts, the white kicks give the look a casual vibe. This outfit is perfect for hanging around the house or shopping with friends. Outfit #2 Cardigan\Old Navy   Dress (worn as skirt)\ Pangaea For a vibrant look that’s a little more dressy, I chose to pair the top with a multicolored floral print on bottom. The short sleeve cardi ties everything together. Outfit #3 Hat\UC  Jeans\ JCPenney   Shoes: Keds This last outfit is great for a day at the lake (although I got a mosquito bite on my arm! So spray down with bug repellent or bring a jacket too) or a bike ride around …

Customizable Watches Perfect For Spring

There isn’t a better way to get more bang for your buck than with modifiable pieces. Modify Watches is a place where you can do just that. Choose from a wide range of straps in every color imaginable and then choose a face to go with it (comes in several colors and patterns). You can interchange the faces, you can interchange the straps and each time you’ll get a new watch that matches your mood or outfit for the day! I chose a white-on-white look since I’m really into minimalism right now… but I am excited to begin adding new faces and straps to my collection for when I want something a little funkier.

Take Me to The Ocean

This past weekend my family and I went on a mini vacation to Ocean City, MD for a family reunion. Since we live in Ohio, it’s not often we get to go to the beach, so I was super excited for a weekend of fun in the sun, fashion, and family. Below are a few highlights from the trip! The hotel was perfect! We could walk outside and go right onto the beach. It was fairly spacious too! We drove all night and into the morning on Friday, so when we finally got settled in we were starving! We found this cute little place called The Bayside Skillet. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a “Good Morning Sunshine!” They had the most delicious crepes ever… I took an unnecessary amount of pictures in this outfit, but it was so hard to choose which I loved the most because they were taken with different backgrounds. Right outside our hotel was the most amazing vinewall, when we first pulled up to the hotel …

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas 2014

“Our mothers give us so many gifts. They give us the precious gift of life, of course, but they also leave treasured lessons that can guide us along our journeys…” -Maria Shriver While we could never repay our mothers or the people who have played an important role in who we’ve become, it’s still nice to show our appreciation for them. Below are a couple of ways to do just that this Mother’s Day. Scented Bath Salts to Promote Relaxation   Take a look at Agraria, an online home and body fragrance store featuring goodies such as candles, bath bars, body lotions, and oils. Original Artwork Or perhaps she’d like a piece from RedBubble, an online marketplace for artists to sell their original designs in the form of iPhone cases, prints, posters, t-shirts, cards, etc. And if she’s an excellent cook like mine, why not some kitchen gadgets to make her life a little easier.
