Paris Fashion Week: Street Style Inspiration

We’re in the middle of Paris Fashion Week (ends Oct. 2), so I thought it would be appropriate to take a look at what people are wearing to the shows! Sometimes I think the fashion and style outside the show, is just as important as what the designers are showcasing. I’m always super inspired looking through these kinds of slideshows. Who knows? Maybe you’ll get an idea for your next outfit from the pictures below! Want more where that came from? Be sure to click here!

And the Winners Are…

Last week, I introduced the fall jacket giveaway contest! You were given a week to comment, and follow me on Instagram for a chance to win. I’ve randomly selected two winners, one for each jacket. The results? Congratulations to Claire Dickerson, you’ve won the denim jacket! And Congratulations to Siena Roberts, you’ve won the varsity jacket! Thanks to everyone who entered.

Fall Outerwear Trends 2013 + Giveaway!

Transitioning your summer wardrobe to fall is simple when you have the right outerwear. The key is balance. You don’t want to overheat, but you also don’t want goose bumps because of the chilly air. Keep reading to see how my friend Angwi and I style our favorite jackets of the season! Pair a tomboy-esque varsity jacket with a feminine dress for a play on style. This particular jacket from Boohoo is extremely soft on the inside. It literally feels like I’m wrapped in a blanket every time I wear it– perfect for windy days! And guess what?? One of you lucky readers will have the chance to win your very own! The details will be at the end of this post. I love the idea of an oversized printed parka over a chunky sweater. It’s effortless, yet stylish. This piece is super versatile. Try belting it, zipping it halfway, or tying it around your waist. Instead of the traditional leather motto jacket, why not go for something a little more ladylike? This boucle jacket–with …

My MBFW Journey + Review of Spring 2014 Collections

Although I’ve worked as a volunteer for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in the past (setting up shows, and backstage areas), this year, I got the exclusive privilege of attending New York’s spring fashion week. How you might ask!?!?! I simply followed my favorite designers on twitter, signed up for their news letters and email lists, and went down to the city to meet people and share my love of fashion. Before I knew it, I was getting invites to attend shows for this years fashion week! It was  a crazy whirlwind experience, from picking out the perfect outfit, to walking into the tents…standing in line and getting my name checked of the “list”. Once I was in the venue, I found my seat and wait for the action to begin! Diane von Fürstenberg DVF’s show called “Oasis” truly lived up to its title.  What an amazing show! I still have chills. First can I say the show was more like a party, tons of celebs and great music, everyone was rocking out in their seats …

What I’m Wearing On My Lips

I wasn’t allowed to wear makeup until I was 16. I’m turning 18 in early October, so makeup is still pretty new to me. I was allowed to wear lipgloss, and chap-stick though. Sometimes, even lipstick. Even today, I like to play around with my lip color. I kind of have an obsession. All of the products you see above, are in a little zipper pouch I carry in my backpack (during school days), or my purse (for the weekends). I have several more tubes, on my bathroom counter, bedside table, closet, and other bags. Is there a helpline I can call???

Being a Wedding Guest: When to Splurge & When to Save

It is always exciting to receive an invitation to a friend or family member’s wedding celebration. But after that excitement wears off, you soon realize that you have nothing to wear. As women, we’re prone to stressing over having the perfect outfit with the matching shoes and accessories. After all, no one wants to be the individual at the ceremony who is way over dressed or, even worse, not dressed up enough. So as a wedding guest, how do you know when to splurge and when to save? The one thing to keep in mind is that the wedding invitation is packed full of clues. Some invitations will actually request a specific type of attire, such as “casual attire only” or “formal”. When these hints are not found on the invitation, take a closer look at the reception venue. For example, a wedding reception at a country club will be far more formal than a backyard wedding reception. The time of day can also be a clue when deciding on the type of attire for …

Vividly: Original Art Transformed Into Limited Edition Fashion

I absolutely love the concept of mixing art and fashion together. Each piece is based on an illustration, or a painting, etc. than an artist made, and is then turned into something wearable. Vividly has a wide range of tank tops, and scarves currently, but there’s more to come! I’m not allowed to show or say anything yet, but visit their site Monday September 16 (their official launch) to see just what I’m talking about. Use the coupon code: BBREADER2901 to get 20% off! Vividly has pieces that are unique, and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Each item is special, eco-friendly, and of great quality. Below are a few of my favorite tanks. Do You Have These 10 Items in Your Closet?

These are the 10 staple items that every teen and young adult should have in their closet. When finding staple pieces you want to focus on items that will last season to season and year to year. 1. Chuck Taylor’s– “Chucks” as I like to call them- have been around forever, they are the most stylish sneakers you can buy. They scream personality, and best of all you can custom design your very own pair! They’re great for days when you want a more casual laid back look, but don’t want to walk around in those bulky girl versions of the sneakers the boys wear. What’s even better, is that they’ll only set you back about $60.00 bucks, which means you can buy one in a crazy color and another pair in a neutral. Try http://www.converse.com, Marshall’s, DSW or http://www.Zappos.com. You can really find them anywhere and always at a great price! 2. White Tee– not the “Hanes your way” tee, and definitely not the $90.00 Gwyneth Paltrow tee, but a nice loose-fitting, classic white …
