It’s the year 2014!! I cannot believe how fast 2013 went by. A lot happened this past year; I met some new friends, helped my teammates go to nationals in track (they won their event!), walked in my first real fashion show, had my besties come visit me from Illinois, babysat my next door neighbor for the entire summer, began my senior year of high school, turned 18, continued getting modeling opportunities, was featured in Instyle magazine, got baptized, celebrated, cried, laughed, reevaluated… Ha, it has definitely been an interesting and very blessed year. I think a lot of times a new year is like a blank page. A new chapter in your book of life. You can either choose to keep living it the way you always have, or make small changes to improve. This can mean changing what you eat, how much you exercise and of course what you wear! Jacket/Boohoo Sweater/H&M Dress/Forever21 Tights/Curate Boutique Boots/Nordstrom Belt/Forever21 There’s something really refreshing about wearing jewel tones in the colder months; I am not quite sure what it is. As I was getting dresses this morning, I started with the tights and picked out the dress (that I transformed into a skirt) next. I loved how the rich purple sweater paired with the coral. I tried something new and funky with my hair… To get this look, simply cornrow sections of your hair about halfway down your scalp and leave the rest of each section braid free. Next, gather the leftover hair into a side ponytail! Easy, right?

Jacket | Boohoo Dress | Sugar Lips Sneaks | Keds Jewelry | Forever21 In my opinion, this dress alone is too frilly. The butterfly sleeves are exaggerated, and the hem is also flouncy. Too girly. So, I threw on this butterfly printed anorak (which is super lightweight, and feels like a chambray button down) to one: cover up the frills and flounce, and two: give the outfit a more boyish, casual feel. I wanted to keep the vibe of effortlessness, and decided on a pair of Keds. Lately, 90% of the time I’ve been wearing silver… but I decided to switch things up a bit and wear gold instead. I love that it seems more delicate, and feminine, contrasting well with the laid back aspect of the outfit. I’m just now realizing this description probably sounds over analyzed. Ha. Honestly, I over think things wayyyy too much, but I can promise you these are the thoughts that go into my head each morning when I get dressed. Judge me.
