Beyond Clothes: The Things That Influence Your Style You Probably Didn’t Know

Many of us assume that clothes are the only things that influence and define our styles. The truth is, style is something that gets defined outside of clothing fashion. Each of us has our own unique tastes and styles in life. Style goes far beyond the clothes we wear. And it’s something that helps us to forge our personal identities. Have you ever wondered what influences our unique styles? And are they things that have done so overnight, or have we always had a particular style? Photo Credit The Weather Where You Live It might sound strange, but the climate where you live plays a big part in your personal style. Even if they live somewhere cold like northern Alaska! The Work You Do What you do for a living will define your style. For example, let’s say that you have an outdoors job. It’s …

Everyone Looks The Exact Same and It’s Pissing Me Off

I am all for a good trend, really, I am. But have we completely lost our sense of originality? Fashion is supposed to be fun, innovative, a statement of your personality and beliefs– not predictable. I have seen the same exact pieces in one day, on 50 different people walking to and from work alone on the streets of Manhattan. Here are the top five trends that everyone is wearing right now. The Blue and White Striped “New Take” on a Button Down The Adidas Stan Smith Sneaker The Choker Bandana Leather String Culotte Jumpsuit  Off the Shoulder Top Trends are important. We have fashion week, the media finds patterns within the designer collections, and then buyers for fast fashion stores can profit off of similar items to those o the runway. It’s a cycle that works. It has worked for a while. Let me note, nothing is essentially wrong with any of these trends. I think they’re appealing, and I’d like to wear them myself, but the fact that everyone is wearing them, makes …

This Is the Backpack You Need For Back-to-School

I have an ancient Mac computer, but what’s nice about it, is it’s a 17 inch which is a rare find these days. While I love the large screen for watching netflix, and creating in adobe suite, there are some challenges that come with the good life. One of the most prevalent ones being, it doesn’t fit properly in any of my bags. I have an aztec backpack that I bought from Pacsun a few seasons ago that is marketed for a 15 inch laptop. But, with a little bit of wiggling, I could fit mine in the designated slot. I just had to pull the top over so that there wasn’t any space between my laptop and the opening of the bag. Overtime, because of this forceful fit, the bag developed two holes in the top corners right where the corners of my laptop would be. When I put my computer in my shoulder bag, it sticks out, etc. Both are not ideal, specially if it rains. So, I’ve really been in the market …
