The More Pillows the Better

So, I finally moved into my apartment on campus! I’m officially a college student now and it feels pretty amazing. I have two roommates in a two bedroom apartment. Guess who got the room to herself?! I was praying things would turn out that way. The first thing I got situated when unpacking my stuff was my bed. I brought a gazillion pillows, but I love how comfy it makes my bed look and feel.     I bought the giraffe pillow and bedding from Steinmart, the big white one in the back and the geometric one I brought from home. The artsy coffee and books pillow is from RedBubble, a website that sells handmade artwork onto not only t-shirts and phone cases, but now pillows, duvet covers, and wall art too! Perfect for decorating a dorm room or campus apartment.

How to Look Chic in Athletic Clothes

Athletic clothes and chic fashion may seem to be at opposite ends of the style spectrum, but more and more designers are embracing the comfort and flexibility of athletic clothing. As the collections displayed at a number of recent runway events show, having a passion for fashion no longer means that you have to be uncomfortable. With so many stylish and functional options available, you can easily find athletic clothes suitable for home, work, and everywhere in between.   Types of athletic clothing Athletic clothing comes in a wide variety of styles and materials, and the design of the pieces depends in large part on what sport or activity the clothing was originally intended for. This includes clothing for team sports, individual sports, and personal fitness. When it comes to fashionable athletic wear, the designs most commonly seen are in the personal fitness area. Since the late 1990s wearing workout clothing pieces such as leggings, yoga pants, sports bras, t-shirts, and sneakers has been cool and stylish. Many designs are made from breathable fabrics that …

Dorm Room DIY \\ Using Washi Tape

Washi tape [wa meaning “Japanese” and shi meaning “paper”] has been all the rage lately as it can be used for scrapbooking, decorating, and pretty much any craft idea you can think of! Haven’t heard of it? According to SheKnows.com… Washi tape is typically made from natural fibers, such as bamboo or hemp, but most commonly from the bark of trees that are native to Japan — the mulberry, the mitsumata shrub or the gampi tree. Most washi tapes are strong (as strong as duct tape in some cases!) and functional as well as pretty, making them wonderful for both everyday and decorative use. I recently purchased a bag of this amazing stuff on Etsy (the seller I went through lets you select 8 of your own colors and patterns for a low price!) so I would be ready to DIY my apartment once I move in (August 21!!!). I’ve used the book Totally Washi! by Ashley Ann Laz, to get my creative juices flowing and have already tried a few of her ideas. Below are …
