How To Shop A Sale

Summer means a lot of things: Hot weather, beach parties, time off of school, road trips, and sales. Lots and lots of sales. Now is the time of year when stores give some of their biggest discounts. You may have noticed some of the summer sales popping up already. As many have come to find, sales can be frustrating. However, they can also be extremely rewarding if you know how to shop them. Below are a few things to keep in mind while shopping a sale: 1. Get to a sale as early in the day as possible. Obviously, a sale will be easiest to navigate early in the morning when no one else has had the opportunity to shop it. Sales associates will have had closing time and opening time to make sure that the sale section is in tip top shape for your convenience. There’s nothing more irritating while shopping than the time you have to spend endlessly sifting through a mess of clothes to even find if there’s anything, well, worth finding. …

My Favorite Summer Perfumes

When I was a little girl I used to have a slight obsession with my mom’s fresh, summery perfumes–full of floral, fruity and exotic notes. I remember spraying my skin, pretending that I was a little lady and making up stories for each and every scent. Fortunately, now that I’ve grown up I have found my own fave perfumes. No need to steal mom’s anymore! 1.  Light Blue by Dolce&Gabbana, was inspired by the liveliness of Sicilian citron, the joy of Granny Smith apple and the spontaneity of bluebells. With it’s base of Cedarwood, Amber and Musk; fresh top notes of lemon and apple this perfume is here to stay and mesmerize everyone who happens to walk past you. 2.   Estee Lauder, Bronze Goddess. With top notes such as Sicilian bergamot and juicy mandarin, a base of caramel and coconut cream and a heart that blooms with an exotic blend of tiare milk, Tahitian gardenia, coconut oil, jasmine and orange blossom this perfume is sure to be described as exotic, warm and solar. 3. Oh …

Fireworks, Barbeque, Patriotism and Red/White/Blue

What do these words remind you of? The fourth of July of course! June is ending and July is about to begin, so what do you plan on wearing on Independence Day? If you have no idea keep reading for some cute outfit ideas. If you have something in mind already keep reading, maybe there’s something you forgot to add… Keepin’ It Comfy. Rompers are super easy to wear and they are mega comfortable! By adding a jean jacket, you are sure to be warm if it starts to get chilly while you’re watching the fireworks. Either pair the outfit with stylish wedges to dress it up, or try canvas shoes to keep it casual. It’s All in The Details. If you don’t want to be incredibly literal with your patriotism, go for creams instead of whites, a nautical red handbag and cute navy sandals. It won’t come off as obvious as the first outfit, which depending on your style, could be a good thing! You’ll still look spirited because of the accents and simple touches …

1 Dress, 2 Ways–Which is Your Favorite?

Sugar Lips sent me this flowy ivory chiffon dress as part of their fashion blogger program. When I first tried it on I noticed it was a lot more girly and ruffley than I anticipated. I’m usually not one to wear super frilly things, but after while I ended up appreciating the other aspects of it. First, the cut. The front is dipped in a low “V” shape and the back mirrors it with a triangle cut, the top ties off in a bow. Second, the color. I honestly don’t own any white dresses. While having a little black dress is a key wardrobe staple, a little white dress is also essential, especially in the summer. Third, the material. I love chiffon! It’s the perfect fabric for summer because it’s lightweight and airy, and it’s been extremely trendy lately. Last, the fit. The dress fits me really well and since I’m tall, its important for me to have the right length (right above the knee) so it doesn’t look too short. My little bro (my …
