What Every Outfit Needs, No Matter Your Style

“Great lingerie is the foundation to any outfit. It’s the first thing you put on and it’s the most intimate expression of your style.” This is the philosophy at AdoreMe.com, your one-stop shop for affordable designer lingerie. To see how to style their lingerie for summer check out the summer festival lookbook. AdoreMe.com also carries swimsuits. With the warmer temps, it’s ok to let your bra peek through in certain occasions. In this case, it’s especially encouraged since you’ll want to show off your beautiful new piece. Here’s how: 1. One-Piece Swimsuits Takeover

While bikinis usually seem to be the swimsuit of choice each year when summer comes around, I want to make an argument for the one-piece. While often considered matronly, I think that a one-piece is a sophisticated and sexy choice for anyone’s day at the beach. Designers have also become increasingly fond of the suit over the past year, as have celebs like Lorde and Zoe Kravitz. Take a look at our take on one-piece swim below, all under $50, where the suits are organized by suggested body type, and shown in various styles. I’m sure you’ll love this trendy, chic, and not to mention practical look! Click on the swimsuit for more information about it. Ruler Cutouts are a great way to add the illusion of curves to a ruler body. Highlighting of the waist through cutouts or seams will also add to this look, as well as the ruching on the bust seen on two of these suits.  Bali Neon Contrast Trim Racer Front Swimsuit $30.00 Boohoo.com Cross-Back One-Piece Swimsuit $22.48 Aerie Wolf …

Fashion Brand, STMT-Statement, Launches It’s Platinum Collection

This past Friday, the company I intern for, Cincy Chic (an online lifestyle magazine for women in the Greater Cincinnati area), hosted its annual Red, Pink, and Blue event. The event donates its proceeds to the American Heart Association (red ribbon), breast cancer (Pink Ribbon Girls), and American Diabetes Association (blue). It’s a night filled with giving, prizes, food, music, and best of all fashion. This year, the freeze fashion show featured Teresa Washington’s Platinum collection from her online store, STMT-Statement. The website carries exclusive one-of-a-kind designs that Washington and her team make and sell. The clothes are carried in several boutiques and will continue to be held in more to come. The new brand is already seeing great success. “We’ve had reality television celebrity Lisa Woo of Hollywood Divas (previous Cast Member of Real House of Atlanta) and Val Warner (Chicago’s “Windy City Live” Talk Show Host) wear and love our brand,” says Washington. Here’s a preview from the event before it hits the website! To read more about Washington and the brand she’s created, read my …

I Struggle With My Self-Image // Personal Essay

This is a personal essay written by Laura Gee Writing about self-image is hard. I thought this would be much easier given that I know this subject all too well, but self-image is a concept that is more complex than it may seem. Self-image differs from person to person and includes different ideals. For me, self-image is more than just how I perceive myself. In my mind, it encompasses all beauty, health, and fashion standards to the smallest details and revolves around perfection. Self-image’s focus is never based off of me, but the world around me. Everyone’s understanding of self-image is a bit different from one another’s, but we are all connected in the same matter, social media. With Twitter and Instagram and Tumblr and Snapchat we make ourselves susceptible to believing we aren’t as funny, as thoughtful, as beautiful, as skinny, as “insert quality” as others. I can scroll endlessly through Instagram’s search page and see beautiful person after beautiful person. I can go on Snapchat and view tiny models wearing clothing I will …
