As we all know, hot days and makeup don’t often mix but lucky for you, I’ve got the tricks and long-lasting products to stop your beauty from sliding, smudging and budging in the heat. Summer is no match for this melt proof makeup look.

FinalPeice

Above are all the makeup products I use in this look. All of the products I use are vegan and cruelty free! Most Everything I use is either long lasting or waterproof to guarantee your makeup won’t go anywhere.

bare face

1. Prime your skin

Apply moisturizer, SPF of at least 30 and primer to a clean face.  My secret to long lasting makeup is the Skindinavia makeup primer and finishing spray. As some of you know these sprays have developed quite a following and the main reason is because they really work! It keeps your makeup where you want it for at least 16 hours.

2. Foundation & Concealer

Apply a light layer of waterproof or long-lasting foundation with a kabuki brush, follow this up with applying a long-lasting concealer to cover any dark circles, redness or blemishes with a damp beauty blender. Then set the foundation and concealer with a setting powder.

3. Highlight and Bake

Use a concealer a few shades lighter than your skin tone to highlight your face. Apply concealer under the eyes, bridge of the nose, cheekbones, brow bones, center of the forehead, cupids bow and along the jawline. Then set the concealer with the same setting powder use a considerable amount and apply the powder with beauty blender, you can choose to bake it or not for 15min then lightly brush the excess, powder off the face.

4. Contour

Contour and bronze the face using a waterproof or long-lasting bronzer. Apply the bronzer with a sculpting brush in the hollows of your cheeks, temples, top of the forehead, sides of the nose, and under the jawline. Then apply a powder highlighter on the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, jawline, inner corners of the eyes, cupids bow and brow bone. Then blend everything out with a fluffy face brush.

5. Blush

Then apply a natural toned blush to the apples of your cheeks and blend up towards your cheekbones.

eyebrows

6. Brows

First comb through your brows with a spoolie or brow brush in a upwards motion. Then apply a clear eyebrow gel through the brows . This helps to keep them in place all day. Then using a waterproof colored brow gel or pomade, shape your brows as desired using a small angled brush.  I usually follow this up by combing through my brows to make them look a bit more natural and apply more eyebrow gel to keep them in place throughout the day.

7. Tightline

Tightline the eyes with a nude pencil on the bottom waterline and black on the top. Using a nude pencil as this looks more natural than using black or white.

nude eyeshadow

8. Eyeshadow Primer and Base Shade

Apply an eyeshadow primer to the eyelid so your eyeshadow will last throughout the day. Then apply a nude shade on the whole lid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush.

rust eyeshadow

9. Darkest Shade

Apply a rust colored shade in the crease, below the lower lash line and in the outer corner of your eye with a flat eyeshadow detailer brush. Blend the shade with a fluffy brush upwards toward your brow bone and below the lower lash line.

10. Metallic Eyeshadow

I found this beautiful metallic eyeshadow  from Tarte, this is a limited edition product and also happens to be waterproof! You could always substitute a very sparkly eyeshadow for this one.

With a flat eyeshadow detailer brush pat the eyeshadow on the center of the lid and blend with the same brush toward the inner corner of the eye.

mascara

11. Mascara & Lashes

You can apply eyeliner to this look if you like but I choose not to.  Curl your lashes and apply a few coats of waterproof mascara. Then comb through the lashes for a more even and natural look. I choose to apply false eyelashes but it is not necessary to complete the look.

lipstick

12. Lipstick

First apply a lipliner to keep your lipstick in place throughout the day. Then apply a nude lipstick, I recommend a liquid lipstick which is more long-lasting. I applied mine with a lip brush to get a more precise application. After I was finished everything, I used the makeup finishing spray from Skindinavia to keep my makeup fully sweat, heat and summer proof.

And this is the finished makeup look! Using these products and techniques, you can have confidence that this look will last you through any extreme heat the summer may bring.
