You may want to hold on to your breton stripes and braided fastenings. The nautical trend will continue into the fall. Although the trend originated in 1846 when Queen Victoria dressed her four-year-old son, Prince of Wales, in a sailor suit, it didn’t really become popular until the 1930’s when french fashion designer Coco Chanel made it so. Today, the maritime fad is consistently “in” with various takes on the style rotating every few seasons.
Take a look at how the trend is worn now and how it can be worn in the nearing chilly months.
Grommets, the clean, classic stripe, and rope accents are in season. By choosing a white ensemble or pairing the staple navy with a white, you’ll keep the trend fresh for summer.
Peplum sleeves, trench coats with gold buttons, and nautical neckties were shown for the upcoming season. I love the denim in the last look, it keeps the outfit from looking too stale.
So, what do you think? Are you excited about this trend sticking around?
