Tips to Staying Organized and Fabulous in College

backtoschoolseries2015Just admit it, you have a problem with staying organized over a long period of time. I get it, you’re busy being a fashionista and  you can just correct it later. Most of the time, later never comes and now you’re stuck with this unfortunate mess. No need to worry, we here at Inexpensive Chic are here to help.

Tip One: A Daily Planner

We had them in grade school for a reason. Back then, we never forgot to study our ABCs and we always knew what day the next spelling test was on. Yes, times have changed but the premise is still the same.frank

Franklin Planner offers cheap planners and planner accessories under $25. They also offer free 2-day shipping.

Passion Planner offers academic and yearly planners for under $30. The layout make it easier for you to mark off parts of your day that is occupied by a meeting, class or work. They also offer free weekly layouts online. You can download them to your computer and then print them out.

Tip Two: Planning Ahead

You have no idea how much time I’ve wasted not planning ahead. It could be anything like not checking the weather forecast before getting dressed. Trust me, when you’re rushing to find something, you do not care about the organization of anything until you find that item. You can mess up your entire room trying to find one shirt.

So let’s try having everything we need laid out at least an hour before it’s time for you to leave. This will cause a lot less stress on you and you will be calm enough to make sure everything is neat.

Tip Three: Put It In Your Phone

We know you have one, so why not put it to good use? You can write everything down in a planner but what if you forget the planner in your dorm? It’ll be nice to have it in your phone calendar so you can just keep everything a swipe away. You have a meeting on the other side of campus a 5pm? Set an alarm for 4:30pm. This will give you enough time to get to your destination and be early.

Tip Four: Try To Keep Everything in One Central Location

When things start to grow legs and walk to the random parts of the room, it’s hard to keep up with it. If you move something try to replace it to the original set location. Most people remember the first place they had it but not the last.
