Jefferey Spivey 30, New York City, Blogger/Retail Management
Where are you from? I originally hail from Indiana, but I was an Air Force brat. So I also grew up across Ohio, D.C., and Florida before landing in NYC in 2007.
Describe your style: I like to describe my style as the intersection between work wear and streetwear.
Last item of clothing you bought and for how much? The last item of clothing I bought was a chambray woven shirt from Joe Fresh for 20 bucks. It was part of a cost-saving style challenge I did for my blog.
Dream Job? To blog full-time and cover all the major fashion weeks around the world.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Aside from shopping, I love to workout and I love cooking/eating.
Your fashion inspiration? From a celebrity perspective, I love Kanye West’s style. It’s fresh and masculine, and it combines elements of streetwear with a high end touch. But I’m also inspired by New York City. There are so many unique and well-dressed people here. Most fashion fans have to go to social media for inspiration. I just have to walk outside.
Something about yourself most people don’t know: I absolutely love music and don’t how I’d survive without it. I was the vocalist in a house group called Aestetik. Our first single, “Intense Business” is still for sale on iTunes.
What color do you own most of? It’s a toss up between black and blue.
One outfit you couldn’t live without? Anything paired with skinny denim. I live in skinny denim for just about every activity except the gym.
Fav places to shop? I really enjoy shopping at Bloomingdale’s 59th and Lexington location. There are a lot of brands to choose from but it’s all so organized with a clear point of view and clarity to offer.
Fashion mantra? Always put your best outfit forward. Even if you’re just running to the grocery store, you never know who’s watching or who’ll you’ll run into.
Any other info we should know? Look out for my coverage of New York’s first-ever Men’s Fashion Week. I’ll be attending some key shows and posting everything on my blog!
