Simple Ways to Save Money on Fashion

As I always say, you don’t have to spend the big bucks to look a million dollars. Being fashionable isn’t about how much you can afford to spend, it’s about the clothes you team together and how you wear them.

Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that branded items are the only way to look chic, because they’re really not. In fact, I often think that people who don’t buy branded clothes, look more stylish.

Reducing the amount you spend on clothes shopping can be tricky, especially when you are a fashion junkie like me. However, with a splash of willpower and some smart thinking, saving money on clothes shopping is doable.

To help you save money on fashion, here are a few helpful tips to follow:

Only shop with cash

Okay, so we wouldn’t expect you to go cold turkey, but it’s important to cut back. Don’t make the fatal mistake of going shopping with your credit card or getting store credit, only shop with cash.

The easiest way to save money on clothes shopping is only buying what you can afford, instead of using a credit card to overspend. Before each shopping trip, set yourself a budget and draw out the amount of cash you need for it, and leave the rest of your wallet at home.

Hit the discount stores

Sure, the discount stores can be hard to navigate, but if you spend time looking around, you will find some great bargains.

You can get some amazing deals on clothes and shoes in discount stores, and can get twice as much as you would in normal stores. However, it will take you a little longer to find what you need, as these stores tend to be jam-packed full of items.

Shop online for deals

Sign up to all your favorite retailers via email and they will send you regular deals and discount codes to use. As well as receiving emails with discount coupons and codes on, you can also get discounts from money saving websites.

There are hundreds of websites dedicated to saving you money, all you have to do is sign up and download the vouchers and codes you want (Retail Me Not). While some websites require you to fill in surveys to get vouchers, others just ask you to sign up for their email newsletter.

Buy products at wholesale

There are some websites that can save you money by offering you products at a wholesale price, instead of a retail price. For instance, you can buy things like shoes and handbags on wholesale, saving yourself money.

Have a look online and find all the best websites for buying items at wholesale, you would be amazed at all the savings you can make. While many of these sites only offer wholesale prices to those buying things in bulk, not all sites do.

Staying fashionable can be expensive. However, there are plenty of ways you can save money. All it takes is a bit of frugality and savvy shopping, and you can save yourself hundreds.
